As part of the Nuvein Foundation’s celebration of National Poetry Month, on Friday, April 20th, 2012 from 3pm-5pm the Arcadia Public Library will host Poetry in Motion: A Teen Event a showcase, open mic, and competition of teen spoken word, poetry, and lyricism. This event now enters its third year of being showcase for young poetic and lyrical talent, and is proudly organized and supported by both the Arcadia Public Library and the Nuvein Foundation for Literature and the Arts.
The Arcadia Library will be taking submissions and entries to be considered for the competition portion up to the day before.of the event. Youth interested in the Open Mic will be allowed to walk in and be considered for inclusion up to the beginning of the event. Submissions from teen and youth throughout the San Gabriel Valley will be considered for participation.
Prizes and recognition will be given out as scored by a panel of established poets and writers from all over Southern California.
The event will take place inside the Cay Mortensen Auditorium and is free and open to the public.
