Dia de Los Muertos events take root in the San Gabriel Valley

Dia de Los Muertos or Day of the Dead is a celebration of the memory of those that have passed, and a rejoicing in the legacy of tradition, wisdom, joy,  and love that they leave behind to family, friends, and community.

This celebration is commemorated by Hispanic and Latino communities all across the San Gabriel Valley throughout the month of October and early November.

The Nuvein Foundation is happy to be a part of that celebration for the sister city communities of El Monte and South El Monte. Especially due to the centennial celebration of the founding of El Monte, and the storied and rich cultural, artistic, and historical contributions of Mexican Americans and other Hispanic and Latino communities to the growth of El Monte.

In the spirit of sharing all known Dia de Los Muertos events across the San Gabriel Valley, here is an incomplete but extensive listing of events known (thus far) to be organized and take place this October and early November.

Enjoy!
