Excerpt from Future Music Magazine

Broken Restraint

"Just awesome. Its easy to forget how good this track is when the vocals are so good, and boy can Caroline Snails sing. This is a track to rival even the mighty massive attack. Great ideas from the main man Jack Pirie, all expertly executed"

The album 'Lazy days and forgotten nights' is just finishing production and will be available online soon.

CODE NAME: CLOVERFIELD
Written by Scott Essman
Cloverfield
Review by Scott Essman

Ten years ago this summer, the can’t miss team of director Roland Emmerich and writer-producer Dean Devlin released their gargantuan feature film updating of GODZILLA, featuring a mostly computer-generated beast rampaging around and trashing most of New York City.  That film, unlike the previous incarnation of GODZILLAs that came before it, failed to ignite genre audiences and left most viewers feeling as though a huge opportunity had been lost.

Now, nearly seven years after a real massive tragedy befell New York during the events of September 11, the filmmaking team of producer JJ Abrams and director Matt Reeves have presented an update on Emmerich’s update, if you will, a revised GODZILLA tale for the handicam age, told exclusively through the point-of-view of a hand-held device.

Where Emmerich and Devlin failed to inject memorable moments into their story, Abrams and Reeves (both late of TV careers) have a fresh take on the material with their personal POV rendering all of their imagery, rampant visual effects included.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008)
Written by Renato Aguirre
Mummy 2008

The blockbuster global Mummy franchise takes a spellbinding turn as the action shifts to Asia for the next chapter in the adventure series, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Brendan Fraser returns as explorer Rick O'Connell to combat the resurrected Han Emperor (Jet Li) in an epic that races from the catacombs of ancient China high into the frigid Himalayas. Rick is joined in this all-new adventure by son Alex (newcomer Luke Ford), wife Evelyn (Maria Bello) and her brother, Jonathan (John Hannah). And this time, the O'Connells must stop a mummy awoken from a 2,000-year-old curse who threatens to plunge the world into his merciless, unending service.
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor with Brendan Fraser
Doomed by a double-crossing sorceress (Michelle Yeoh) to spend eternity in suspended animation, China's ruthless Dragon Emperor and his 10,000 warriors have laid forgotten for eons, entombed in clay as a vast, silent terra cotta army. But when dashing adventurer Alex O'Connell is tricked into awakening the ruler from eternal slumber, the reckless young archaeologist must seek the help of the only people who know more than he does about taking down the undead: his parents.

As the monarch roars back to life, our heroes find his quest for world domination has only intensified over the millennia. Striding the Far East with unimaginable supernatural powers, the Emperor Mummy will rouse his legion as an unstoppable, otherworldly force...unless the O'Connells can stop him first. Now, in The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, the trademark thrills and visually spectacular action of the Mummy series will be redefined for a new generation.
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor with Brendan Fraser

RIP Vampira - the first real TV horror host
Written by Renato Aguirre
Vampira - the first real TV horror host - has died at age 86.

She was born Maila Syrjäniemiin in Finland in 1921 and moved as a child to the US.  She started her career as Maila Nurmi, working as a model, actress and dancer in Hollywood, but her life was forever changed when she attended the Ball Caribe Masquerade Party in Hollywood in 1953. She attended dressed as a vampish character based on the Charles Addams drawing of Morticia from the New York Times. She beat out 2000 contestants in the costume contest and won first prize! She also won the attention of K- ABC channel 7 producer Hunt Stromberg Jr. He hired her to host the station's new late-night horror show, called what else? The Vampira Show!

Vampira

The Horror Show premiered in 1954 and Vampira quickly got national attention. Fan clubs and magazine articles followed. Soon she was jet setting with Hollywood icons like James Dean and Marlon Brando. Unfortunately, she was fired from the studio after only just a year and a half. Why? Vampira claims she was blacklisted from Hollywood because she didn't cooperate with the Hollywood factory.

Of course, she famously became part of Ed Wood's stock company and was in his film Plan 9 From Outer Space.  Equally famously, she boasted a 5'6" frame and claimed these measurements: 36B-21-35.  She was played by Lisa Marie in the 1994 Ed Wood biopic directed by Tim Burton.  It is said that Elvira notoriously "stole her act" with similar character/show features, but Vampira never successfully prosecuted this violation.  RIP Maila - we will not forget you!
