Dia de los Muertos

Performers
1. Tina Flores of the El Monte Cultural Commission and the Nuvein Foundation will be singing traditional Mexican corridos and other songs.
2. Poets/Poetas from the poets from the ZZyZx Writer’s Group (Los Angeles), poets from the Nuvein Poetry Group (El Monte – SGV), poets from Spoken Word & Live Music Open Mic (Downtown Los Angeles), poets from the Poet to Poet meetup group [Long Beach] will be reciting remembrance poems and poesia related to Dia de Los Muertos.
3. Ballet Folklorico dancers from the De Colores Ballet Folklorico in Whittier (part of Studio Danza) will be performing traditional ballet folklorico dance.
4. Studio Danza from Uptown Whittier will be performing an original hip/hop-fusion piece set to the traditions and customs of Dia de Los Muertos.

Also
Sale of Arts & Crafts by various handcraft artisans, art sellers, artists, painters, and similar vendors. Local schools and non-profits who want to take advantage of the event and raise funds for their organization are also welcome.
Sale of Food & Drinks associated with Dia de los Muertos will be invited. These include Valley Mall merchants who are interested in participating in the event. The food vendors must have their own permit to sell in outdoor events.
